WHAT IS ZOUK

Brazilian zouk is a partner dance that emerged from the fusion of lambada and Antillean zouk music. This dance is mainly known for its upper body off-axis movements, counterweights and numerous tilted turns. Over time, this dance evolved and adapted to numerous rhythms and dance styles, which means it can now be danced on various types of music, from more energetic songs to more lyrical ones, from more “classical” songs to the pop song of the moment, leaving a lot of space for improvisation and the creativity of zoukers.
